Frequently asked questions
For daily-rate workers, multiply days worked by the agreed daily rate. For piece-rate workers, multiply units produced by the per-unit rate. This template records both and keeps a clear payment record.
So pay is fair and accurate, and so you have evidence of what you paid and why. A clean record protects you in a labour dispute and supports your expense records for KRA.
M-Pesa gives you a clean, traceable record of who was paid and when, which is easier to reconcile than cash. Either way, record the payment and get a signature.
Agree the daily or per-unit rate clearly before work starts, in line with any applicable minimum wage. Recording the agreed rate avoids disputes when it is time to pay.
