M-Pesa POS for Kenyan businesses: till, paybill and Pochi, reconciled automatically

Your payment should know which sale it belongs to.

Still matching M-Pesa payments by hand?

Most Kenyan businesses run M-Pesa through a till or paybill and then reconcile it manually, checking confirmation SMSs against a notebook or spreadsheet at the end of the day. Veira matches every payment to the sale that created it automatically, across till, paybill, Pochi la Biashara and cash, so the reconcile step disappears.

The problem is not accepting M-Pesa. Every Kenyan business already does that. The problem is what happens after the money lands: was this the payment for this sale, did the customer actually pay, and does the day's M-Pesa total match what the till says was sold. Answering that by hand does not scale past one counter.

Veira treats M-Pesa as a first-class payment method inside the POS, not a separate system to check against it. A sale rings up, a payment comes in, and Veira matches the two before the shift even closes.

Every way customers pay you on M-Pesa

Till Number (Buy Goods)

Customers pay at your till in seconds. Every payment lands in Veira matched to the sale that created it, no manual entry.

Paybill

Take Paybill payments for invoices, deposits or accounts, with the account number matched automatically to the right customer or order.

Pochi la Biashara

Selling from a personal number through Pochi still counts. Veira reconciles those payments the same way it reconciles a till.

Cash

Cash sales sit in the same ledger as M-Pesa, so a shift close shows the true split between cash and mobile money, not just one or the other.

Sell → Pay → Match → Reconcile → Report

1. SellA sale is rung up on Veira, cash or M-Pesa.
2. PayThe customer pays by till, paybill, Pochi or cash.
3. MatchVeira matches the M-Pesa confirmation to the sale automatically, by amount and timing, not by trusting a screenshot.
4. ReconcileAt close of day, every sale has a matched payment or is flagged as unmatched, before it becomes a dispute.
5. ReportCash vs M-Pesa, by till, by branch, by staff member, ready for the owner or the accountant.

Frequently asked questions

Does Veira work with my existing M-Pesa till or paybill number?
Yes. Veira connects to the till, paybill or Pochi la Biashara number you already have, so you keep your existing M-Pesa setup and add reconciliation and reporting on top of it.
What is M-Pesa reconciliation and why does it matter?
Reconciliation is matching every M-Pesa payment received to the sale it paid for. Without it, owners rely on staff showing a confirmation SMS or screenshot, which is slow and easy to fake. Automated matching removes that gap.
Can Veira tell the difference between till, paybill and Pochi payments?
Yes. Each payment type is recorded and reported separately, so you can see exactly how customers are paying you, not just a combined total.
Does M-Pesa reconciliation work offline?
Sales are recorded offline and queued. Matching against M-Pesa confirmations happens once the connection returns, so nothing is lost, but confirmation matching itself needs a connection to reach Safaricom.
Can I see M-Pesa vs cash sales per branch or per staff member?
Yes, if you are on a plan with multiple branches or users. Reports break down payment method by branch, by till and by the staff member who rang up the sale.
How much does Veira cost?
Plans start at KES 2,999/month and include M-Pesa reconciliation, eTIMS compliance, inventory and reporting. Pay annually and your Veira terminal is included.
