What exists today, device by device
Veira ships three installable clients and one that needs no installing. On Android, there is a real app on Google Play. On Windows and macOS, there is a desktop app you download and install. On the Veira handheld terminal, Veira is already on the device when it reaches you. And in any modern browser, on any operating system, you sign in and use Veira without installing anything at all.
iOS falls into that last group. An iPhone or an iPad runs Veira through Safari, or through Chrome or any other browser on the device. It is the same application and the same account: a sale you ring up on the terminal shows in the reports you open on your iPad a second later, because neither device holds its own private copy of your business. There is no separate iOS account, no iOS-only pricing and no data to migrate if an iOS app appears later.
What there is not is an App Store listing. That means you cannot search the App Store for Veira and find us, you will not get App Store update notifications, and any listing claiming to be Veira on the App Store today is not ours. We have no release date to share for a native iOS app, and we would rather say that plainly than put a date on a page and miss it.
It is worth being precise about why this matters commercially rather than technically. The vast majority of shop phones and tills in Kenya run Android, which is where the installable app and the handheld terminal both are. The iPhone in this conversation is usually the owner's own phone, used to check numbers away from the shop, rather than the device ringing up sales. The browser serves that job well.

Sign UpHow to set Veira up on an iPhone or iPad
Five minutes, no App Store, no installer.
- 1
1. Sign up or sign in from the browser
Open app.veirahq.com in Safari and either create your business or sign in to the one you already have. If somebody else set up the business, ask them to add your email as a user first; your permissions follow your account, not your device.

2. Add Veira to your home screen
In Safari, tap the Share button, scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen. iOS creates an icon that opens Veira full-screen without the browser's address bar and tabs, which is as close to an installed app as iOS gives a website. This is an iOS feature, not a Veira one, and it works the same way for any site.

3. Check the things you will actually use on this device
Open your dashboard, your sales list and one product. If you are the owner rather than the cashier, that is usually the whole job: see today's takings, check what is running low, look at a receipt a customer is querying.

4. Decide what the shop sells on
If the iPhone is your own phone and the shop has a till or a terminal, you are done. If you were planning to sell on the iPhone itself, read the next section before you commit to it.

5. Install the app on the devices that can have it
Put the Android app on the shop's Android phones and tablets from Google Play, and the desktop app on the back-office computer. Mixing clients is normal and expected: an Android till, a Windows laptop for reports, and an iPhone in the browser all run the same business.
Four mistakes people make here
Searching the App Store and concluding Veira does not exist
This is the one that costs us customers we never hear from. An empty App Store search is not evidence that the software is unavailable to you; it means the distribution channel is a browser instead of a store.
Buying iPads as tills because the owner likes iPhones
If the till is the device that must keep working when the network drops, buy for that requirement. The installed Android app and the Veira terminal are the clients built to keep selling through an outage and send the queued KRA invoices once the line is back. Choosing a device because of the brand you use personally is how shops end up with hardware that cannot do the one job that matters at 6pm on a Saturday.
Assuming the browser version is a cut-down demo
It is not a trial, a viewer or a lite edition. It is the same application your staff use, subject to the same permissions on your account.
Installing something called Veira from the App Store
We do not publish there. If you find an App Store listing using the Veira name, do not sign in to it with your credentials, and tell us so we can report it.
Which setup fits which shop
Suppose you run a chemist with one counter and you personally use an iPhone. The practical setup is the Veira terminal or an Android phone at the counter doing the selling and the eTIMS invoicing, and Veira in the browser on your iPhone for everything you do away from the shop: checking the day's total on the way home, approving a price change, pulling up a receipt when a customer calls.
Now suppose you are a consultant invoicing a handful of clients a month from an iPad and nothing else. There is no counter, nothing is being scanned, and losing signal for ten minutes does not stop a sale happening. The browser on the iPad is genuinely all you need, and adding it to the home screen makes it feel like the app you were looking for.
The dividing line is not iOS versus Android. It is whether a device has to keep taking money when the internet does not cooperate. That question has the same answer whichever phone you prefer.
Trading without eTIMS-compliant tax invoices risks KRA penalties, blocked VAT input claims for your customers, and receipts a business buyer cannot expense.
Veira signs every sale to KRA eTIMS automatically, so each receipt is compliant the moment it prints, with no separate device to reconcile.
What you get regardless of the device
One account across every client, so the device is just a window onto the same business. KRA eTIMS invoicing on the sales you record, M-Pesa reconciliation, inventory, and reporting are properties of your Veira account rather than of a particular app build, which is why signing in from a borrowed laptop shows you your own live numbers and nothing else.
Offline selling is the one real difference worth planning around. The installed Android app and the handheld terminal are built to keep selling through a network drop and to transmit queued invoices to KRA once the connection returns. If your shop loses signal regularly, that is the setup to ask about when you talk to us, and it is a hardware and client decision rather than a plan upgrade.
If a native iOS app does ship, it will sign in to the account you already have and there will be nothing to move across. Nothing you set up today is wasted by waiting.

If you came here looking for a Veira iOS app, the honest answer is that there is not one yet, and the useful answer is that you do not need to wait to start. Open Veira in Safari, add it to your home screen, and put the installable app on the Android phones and tills that will be doing the selling.
