Can I use one POS for two businesses?

Short answer

It depends on whether they are two branches of one business or two legally separate businesses. Branches of the same business belong on one account: one owner view, per-branch stock, prices and reports. Two businesses with different KRA PINs need separate setups, because each PIN files its own eTIMS invoices and mixing them corrupts both sets of records.

The KRA PIN is the dividing line. eTIMS invoices carry the PIN of the business that made the sale, so a butchery and a boutique owned by the same person but registered separately must each invoice under their own PIN. Running both through one POS account would file one business’s sales under the other’s tax record.
